Update, Stats and HOME!!!

I noticed that Derick left out the stats so here they are:

Sarah Elizabeth Pikula
8 lbs. 7 ounces
20 inches long

Mommy and Baby are doing wonderful!! Big Brother got to come and meet her yesterday, he just kept saying "mommy i love her, and i love you". He also kept humming songs to her, it was so precious and sweet. He was a little overwhelmed though, took a nap at the hospital and then went home with daddy for some lunch and more relaxing. It has been a great day though, we were able to go home and start getting our new schedule started. Here are some new photos, we are still trying to get some good ones of her eyes open. Thank you to everyone for the comments, and warm wishes!!

Kurtis was so tired and just wanted to hold her after the long day we had!! He looks a bit out of it, but was so sweet holding her!!

OCTOBER 15TH, 2009

Baby Pikula steps into the world! Amy checked into the hospital on Wednesday at noon, and after a night of mystery and tomfoolery, Baby"to be named later" Pikula is born at 3:30pm Thursday afternoon. Here are some first day exclusives

More updates later. We are so appreciative to The McDowells and Serene who helped with Kurtis during this time. The little man will meet his baby sister tomorrow!

Wait for it, wait for it..... Sarah Elizabeth Pikula! We will call her Sarah Beth. Shout out to Jaxo the Magnificent for the suggestion!

We have been up to!!

We have really been preparing a lot for the baby, but in the mean time Kurtis and I went on a fun little mother son date while Derick was at a job interview. We went to Chase Park and enjoyed the boats in the marina. It was relaxing for me and tons of fun for Kurtis.
We also got a fun package from Pops and GG, they sent Kurtis some adorable PJ's. Thank you so much, he loves them and the book!

Update on Us...

Its been a few weeks, sorry, but here is a quick update on us!!

Kurtis started school, he loves his teacher, loves his classmates, and even loves homework. He is pretty serious when he does it and gets frustrated if he can not do it exactly right. Not sure where he gets that need for perfection from?? But it is really helping him to direct his energy and he ask questions/talks a lot more about things that happen during the day. He has really started singing his own songs (now that one I know where he got it from...his daddy...), whenever he plays with his trains he comes up with some new song. It is cute. He also sings to the baby and is getting ready to share mommy and daddy with a sibling. It is so sweet how he talks about things he will help with when the baby is born: her bath, helping to feed her just to name a few. He is really excited about Halloween and will try to wear his costume where ever he can.
Derick is BACK!!!! That is all I have to say...I have tried catching him with the camera in his uniform but so far no luck. I will keep trying! We love having him home to take care of the things that were getting too hard for mommy to do, as well as just having his wonderful personality that we missed! Kurtis is very very happy to say the least! He enjoys the time with his daddy to play GI Joe's, Super Heroes, Trains, Cars, reading, pretty much anything, he is just happy Daddy is home.

Amy is very very round, low, and ready to have the baby. We still do not have a name picked out, any girls names out there for suggestions would be fun to hear! Work is going well, other than that she is trying to help out around the house as much as possible. Thankfully, Derick got the crib up (among the MANY other things he has done!!) and preparations for the baby are almost done....

WOW...we have done a lot!!!

Sorry, we are doing catch up on the blog again, so this is kind of a long update.
We have done a ton of things....

We went to the aquarium again with the McDowell's and had a blast. The kids were in a fun play, we finally saw the sea turtles (although this is Anne's photo not mine but it was so beautiful!!) and the octopus was not hiding in the dark like usual!!
We went to the Natural History Museum with family and friends from church. It was great we looked at dinosaur bones, fossils, and other animals, but for some reason the only photo I have is the elephants and its blurry. Sorry!!

We travelled to San Diego to surprise my cousin Lisa for her 30th birthday party. We saw family and it was a really nice drive. Kurtis played hard at the park and passed out on the way home so I got to jam to Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood, Jax almost put in Celine...but then I thought the waterworks would start. The view of the temple from the freeway was so beautiful it was a wonderful weekend! We went to Hollywood and had ice cream at the Disney Cafe with the McDowell's, again thanks for inviting us, it was fun!! The ice cream was delicious! (I think something is happening behind me because no one is really looking at the camera...oh well)Next thing on the agenda was getting Kurtis finally registered and enrolled at Pre-K, he starts this week!! Here he is after meeting his teacher! AND LASTLY...Derick comes home this week. You remember the chain, and here we are with the chain yesterday!!! We are so very excited and can not wait to have him back in our home!!

I also had a wonderful baby shower, I will do a post on that later on this week!! Thank you to everyone though it was absolutely great!

Two Weeks Combined...

Our vistors Kelly and Martin left and met up with Pops and GG on Route 66, Kurtis was sad he could not travel with them, so we made a Route 66 Pancake in honor of them!!

We went to the aquarium again and saw some new things: A South African Porcupine, and the underwater exhibit of the Sea Lions.Kurtis made a lovely dinosaur island and we studied the planets. Here are some fun photos: (Kurtis took the one of me...yikes!) Kelly and Martin came back and ended their trip on Route 66 at the Santa Monica Pier. Martin and Kurtis did some fun experiments with rocks, and a sand volcano. We had pizza and watermelon at the Marina, then got some wonderful Yogurtland yogurt it was a wonderful way to end the week we had.
