The beginning of June has been wonderful!
It has been warm enough for us to play outside with water guns.
Derick built me a raised garden. I will post photos of the growing garden later on...I will give you a hint of whats to come we already have four tomatoes!!
And last, Derick had a three day drill weekend that we got to pick him up from. While waiting for him to arrive we checked out some aircraft on base. The children were so very very happy to see him after three days. I know they can not wait till summer when he will be gone for longer...but we will make it through!

Hiking!!!
Before we had children Derick and I used to go hiking with our dear friends the McDowells all the time...reminiscent of those wonderful times we decided to go hiking with the McDowells and all the children!! We had a great time, and the kids were way faster then I thought they would be. It ended up being a great workout, fun company, and an all round fantastic day!
After the hike we went to the beach while we waited for the restaurant to open for lunch. Sarah got so wet that we striped her down to her underwear and let her play on the beach. Derick was a bit embarrassed but I thought kids should be kids!

Car Show and Kurtis' Performance
We went to the annual culver city car show, the children and I always really love the car show. I love to see all the interesting upgrades and remodels, Kurtis loves the different paint jobs, and Sarah enjoyed trying to find a pink car this year. She was successful and found two!! The camera died so I only got so many pictures, but they were good ones none the less!!
A week or so ago Kurtis had a special performance for Cinco De Mayo, I got a great picture when he walked into the auditorium but then it was so full that I could only video from one position and couldn't get the best shot of him. You see him a few times though, enjoy!

Getting ready for summer!!!
Just some random photos of the kids and what we are doing while we are coming to the end of the school year and the beginning of the summer.
As soon as Kurtis got out of school we changed and ran to the beach for 45 minutes of some fun in the sun!! It was very very windy so we packed up and came back home but it was fun jumping waves and playing in the sand none the less!
Not sure why but last week 7 Eleven had a random free slurpee day so we went and each grabbed a different flavor. Kurtis favorite was mixing them all and Sarah's...well she couldn't finish a fourth of one so she wasn't a big fan!
For Derick and I's parents and our family we decided to have the children's photos taken at Sears. The hardest part has been picking our favorites. These are just proofs so they say SEARS across them but you get the idea of the cuteness!!
Happy Memorial Day!!

Kurtis is playing soccer again this year, but this year he is playing with his school friends and he is loving it!!! It is a great way to get exercise and spend time with good friends.
Kurtis even got to do the coin toss at the beginning of the game one week. Fun Fun!!
Here is a video if you would like to check out everything that was done!!

San Diego OR Bust!!!
Derick and I decided to go away to San Diego for our 9 year anniversary (yes 9 years....and it has been wonderful every moment of those 9 years!! Love you sweetie!)...my parents generously offered to come and watch the children for us so we jumped at the chance! There are so many things I love about San Diego, some of the highlights, the hills, flowers, blue skies, and the temple.
Some military shots for Kurtis we took...the HUM-V had a sign on it that said STUDENT DRIVER. I found that so funny I had to take a photo!
We enjoyed the time away from the children but missed them as well. At least we knew they were very well taken care of.
Thanks again Pops and GG!!! We love you!
Kurtis was so excited....ok Derick and Kurtis were so excited to find this Darth Vader mask at a rummage sale for 50 cents!! They are all too funny!
