HE DID IT!!!

Kurtis' school had a winter performance, we practiced and practiced but still did not think he was going to get on stage. BUT HE DID IT and he did it really well!!! He and all of his classmates did a wonderful job and yes he did bring a little tear to my eye, he is growing so fast!!!

These two...

These two are so funny together!!
Sarah loves to just watch him, and Kurtis loves to entertain her!! I was trying to capture a photo of Sarah laughing which is pretty hard, but Kurtis decided to come in and help. He tried lots of different things!!almost there...and FINALLY...we got a little smile!!!

Families gone...what to do???

We dropped everyone off at the airport, came home and started to clean. I never would have been able to get it all done, but I had a surprising little helper!!
After cleaning he got depressed, sat down on the recliner and read the book Twas the Night Before Christmas (with Nanny's pre-recorded reading) over and over and over again. I was feeling so sad for him, then I over heard him talking to Nanny, so I asked who he was talking to and he said "Nanny, if I push this button she can hear me"...the poor boy misses you all!!!
To cheer him up we did an experiment called "Dancing Raisins", you combine water, baking soda, and vinegar THEN drop the raisins in and watch them dance.

A few weeks ago we had Sarah's blessing and enjoyed all of my family in town!! We celebrated Sarah's birth, Jackie's Birthday, Mom & Dad's Anniversary, and Christmas since we all are not sure when we will be back together again!! Kurtis LOVED all of the attention, and cried when everyone left. We miss you all already!!!
Thank you all for your love and support!!!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!!!

Kurtis has been asking for months to go fly his kite but with Derick back at work, and little Sarah I have not made it to the beach with him. BUT...Aunt Katie flew in last week and we decided to go straight to the beach and try to fly the kite. The wind was not blowing that hard, but by the end we got the kite pretty high up there!! It was so fun to see the pure joy in his face!!!

They are just ADORABLE!!

They really are, and I love them!!! We traveled out to The Grove to visit Santa and it was a memorable trip!! Kurtis did not want to sit on Santa's lap without mom, so yes I sat with Santa!!!

It's A Groove Thing

When Sarah is fussy, there is only one type of music that soothes her and makes her happy- Rap and R&B. We found this out while in the car when she wasn't happy in her car seat. KDAY 93.5FM came to her aid and she just sat there and cooed. Ignorantly thinking it was ANY type of music that soothed, we turned the radio to rock music and she started crying harder than before. We quickly turned it back to hear Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back", and she was happier than ever. Then it was "Tootsie Roll". Through the past few weeks we found out that her favorite artists are Jay-Z and Beyonce, and she laughs at Kurtis when he dances. Some nights we play some Hip Hop and have dance battles in the living room. Kurtis has a few signature moves. His dad's special moves are the Robot and the Cabbage Patch!

Update and Celebration

We have had a great couple of weeks!!
Sarah is growing like a weed!
Kurtis is also growing like a weed, he turned 4 this week, went on his first field trip (without mom and dad), and had his first sleepover.
We love them both so much and are just enjoying being their parents!!

Our Halloween

We carved pumpkins, went to the zoo, had a Halloween Festival at Pre-K, trick and treated at the trunk or treat, and are getting used to a real schedule with Sarah.
Kurtis is growing up so fast, he recognizes more and more numbers and loves to try and write numbers and letters on his own. He has his first field trip this month which means riding on the bus with his class without mom or dad....yes mom is a little nervous!! He is a terrific big brother and is very helpful, he especially enjoys making sure the bath is the right temperature.
Sarah sleeps a little bit too well, we have to wake her up to eat in the middle of the night most nights. She is awake more and more during the day and is starting to smile at us. She is gaining weight and growing each day.
