Past few weeks...

We had a fun primary activity where the children learned about Mexico. Kurtis really enjoyed the Piñata and painting the maraca's.

Kurtis also has become friends with a little boy in our apartment complex, they like to play water balloons, and go swimming in the kiddie pool.

We also planted seeds and up sprouted tomatoes, and sunflowers plants. Serene gave us some herbs too that have all sprouted, but you can't really see the oregano but its there. Kurtis has a chore to water them and clean out their pots. Soon we will need to re-pot them, hopefully that goes ok too. Since we do not have the yard to have a garden we thought we would test growing these plants on our balcony, so far so good.

Last thing we did was build a new train city on Kurtis' train table. He has played with it everyday.

Update on the Pikula's

Kurtis is wrapping up preschool, here is a funny photo of him jumping on the bed at our hotel in SFC. He is ready for summer to swim in Nanny's pool and vacation! We did have fun at the Noah's Ark exhibit with some friends from church!Amy is enjoying time with Kurtis, working hard, and keeping up with the housework!Derick left this week for basic training and will be gone for 4.5 months!! We love him and miss him a TON. The blogs for the next few months will really be to update him when he gets back on what we did while he was gone!! Kurtis and I made a paper chain so that we could keep up with and know how many days we had until he comes home to us.(at the hotel the night before he shipped out! sorry, not a great photo of derick but the other option was bad of both!)

Trip to SFC

Kurtis and I decided to go up to SFC for my cousin Kiel's wedding. Since Derick could not get off work Serene offered to help me drive, which was wonderful. It was a great drive, a nice time with family, and great weather for the wedding.

Congratulations Kiel and Melissa!!

They had delicious fondue, Kurtis enjoyed every piece of it!!!
Kurtis also really enjoyed time with Great Grandma and Great Grandpa!!

We stopped to get gas on the way home and this wonderful lady allowed us to check out her beautiful horses, and yes one really wanted to eat my hair thinking it was a carrot!!

Our big boy GROWING up!!

Kurtis has grown out of his toddler bed so we were lucky to find a cheap twin bed on craigslist and quickly picked it up. He has loved it!! We have loved it too, ever since we bought it he has not startled Derick and I in the middle of the night standing next to our bed because his bed "hurt him".

Its Been A While!!!

Sorry for not blogging regularly we have been busy with family outings! I'll try and recap most of the highlights!

Kurtis Story

Today Kurtis and I were playing with his tools and other toys when he said he wanted to be a doctor. So I thought I would be his patient. I put my head down and said my head hurt and I had a fever. The sweet little boy put his hand on my head put his finger on his chin like he was thinking and then knelt down and said "I need to say a prayer to fix you mommy". It was so sweet, I could not bare to tell him I was pretending so that he could be a doctor. He said a very tender prayer and then touched my forehead again and told me I was better now. So cute!! He is growing up so much and we love having him in our lives!!

OuR WeAthEr!!!

The weather here has been so nice lately. Last week we decided to go as a family to the beach for a few hours! It was so relaxing and just the perfect weather. We look forward to doing this more and more often as summer approaches!!

Yo-Gurt

A few months ago our friend Brit showed us this wonderful Frozen Yogurt place, and we have been going once a month or so since then. It is just so good!! Well Kurtis and I decided to go a few weeks ago but on the way there he asked if his friend Zoie could come along. Lucky us she was available to come on a date with us!! They were too cute, they both got Strawberry ice cream and loved every minute of it!! When I was getting them into the car Kurtis told Zoie "You are beautiful" and Zoie said "You are too..." , so innocent and adorable!
