Last Few Weeks Till....He's Gone.

We have been kind of spoiled the past few weeks because Derick has been working at a summer camp, so he does not go in until the afternoon. We have been so lucky to spend extra time with him before he leaves for his National Guard yearly training. I know he will not be gone for as long as he was last summer but it has been very nice to get a ton of things done and really enjoy some family time before he does have to leave us.

We went to one of Kurtis' friends for a birthday party where he....swam a ton

got stung by a bee for the first time (obviously not a photo of that, but it happened in the pool shortly after this photo)

held a bearded dragon (and hung out with a huge tortoise- but I did not get any photos of that)

Sarah and I just hung out around the pool in the shade...she was really tired since it was during her nap time.

After all of that excitement and fun Kurtis got a hair cut!!!
We got a bird feeder to watch birds outside on our patio (mom and dad now you can see it)

Update!!!

Sarah has left behind her army crawl and has started to really crawl. She is pretty fast, and before we knew it, she was lifting herself up and standing. This girl just will not slow down!! She took her first swim, which we knew she would love. She loves the water, just not the ocean.

Kurtis finished his swim lessons and loved every minute of it. Now that those are done, he is enjoying playing with daddy in the mornings and cooking with mommy in the evening. He has helped me make funnel cake, double chocolate chip cookies, and the good 'ole fashion American chocolate chip cookies.

We are all getting ready for Derick to be gone for a bit, we will miss very much and will try to keep the blog updated as a journal for him again!!

Little Missy

Since there was a posting devoted to Kurtis, I thought I should do one posting just for Sarah. Sarah has started to lift herself up into the standing position, she can go from laying down to sitting up on her own, she has six teeth (and is getting number 7), and she is loving real food. In fact, she loves it so much some times she eats until she throws up. I will get her height, weight in July at her appointment. But her big first this past week was going to the beach, she was not too happy when daddy dipped her feet in the water....so sad!!Nanny she wore the adorable watermelon outfit that you gave her, and Aunt Elaine let us borrow this adorable watermelon hat!! She was too cute!These are photos that my friend Anne took with her new amazing camera...Sarah's eyes looked so blue I had to share both of them!Lastly, Derick was bathing Sarah the other night (I must say he usually baths the children, THANK YOU!!) and I walked in to see how they were doing to find them both singing. I was able to quickly run and get the flip video (thank you GG and POPS!) and video it to share! I wish she was louder but I could not risk getting closer I might have distracted her more. She also has this new laugh/smile thing she does so here are two videos for you to get to know Sar a little better.

Final Week of....

Kurtis finished his Pre-K class this week and loved every minute of it. They had the spring dance performance, all of the children danced from different parts of the world. They all did a terrific job!The video is a bit shaky because Sarah is crying behind me and I am trying to take care of her and tape Kurtis' performance, but he did a great job. He would not do the pony...we are not sure why, that one he only did at home. I had to edit the video into two so that it would upload to the blog, but you get the idea of the dance.



It was also graduation, but I only was able to get video of that because my camera was only taking blurry photos. Oh well...it was only his Pre-K graduation, but all the boys were in shirts and ties they were handsome and the girls were wearing little princess dresses they were adorable as well.

Sorry for the absence!!

With the end of school and other family occurrences it has been a busy time in our household! But I have been taking photos to document the fun things we have been doing.

We made Anne's caramel popcorn, it is SOOO GOOD!! We ate almost all of it for mid-morning snack....We have been playing with trains a lot, Sarah seems to love to crawl over to Kurtis as he plays over there!! Kurtis does a great job of getting her some of her toys so that she won't play with his.
Then we met up with my brother in Downtown Disney where we visited the Lego Store and had dinner at the Rainforest Cafe. Kurtis loved the ambiance of the restaurant! It was so nice to finally meet Kyler and Ella has really gotten so big, we were really glad we got to see you, we love you all...Ryan and Jordan too!I will update more next week with Kurtis' Spring Dance Performance and his graduation from Pre-K and I will have more photos to update you on Sarah too.

These Kids Grow TOO Fast

So yes, she is finally going forwards. Its an Army crawl but a crawl none the less!!! This girl is moving WAY too fast!!





Kurtis has starting diving in the water and holding his breath to swim under water. He loves it, its not Nanny's pool but he is a little fish!

April has flown by so fast!!!

Kurtis is getting bigger, lately he has had issues with listening and following directions. He is having problems at school and at home. Not sure if he is bored or just having a problem. Any ideas?? Tomorrow he will be missing out on his field trip because he could not improve his listening skills at schools, at home he is doing better though! He is picking up vocabulary from lots of different places and I find myself having to look words up to answer his questions sometimes (which I think says more about me then him). He is still REALLY into dinosaurs and anything transportation. Here he is with his craziness!Sarah is really growing her 6 month appointment her height is at 26 inches and her weight is 16.9 lbs. She can sit up on her own, she can turn over (in all directions) and uses that as a mode of transportation. Also, somehow she can move herself backwards when she is on all fours. She actually lifts her legs and moves backwards, but I would not call it crawling. It is too funny to watch. She has two teeth and is loving solids. She is a very determined little girl and just wants to play with the big kids!Even with craziness they are joys in our lives we are very blessed to have them in our family!!
