Our FINAL road trip in Virginia we decided to travel to Washington D.C. and we were joined by a special visitor!!!
That is right...Derick came into town and surprised the kids. This is not the best picture of Derick but it was the only one I have close enough to see him well and I think it is too funny with Sarah picking her nose!
We took a weekend trip to Washington D.C. and saw all of the sites that Kurtis loves the Air and Space Museum, Natural History Museum, The White House, Lincoln and Washington Monument, and The Capitol. It was so very very hot, we were quickly moving from one place to the other trying to not over heat.

We stayed right down the street from The White House at the J.W. Marriott, and of course with my mom's status at the Marriott we were up graded to a wonderful view.
Sarah was so excited to have McDonalds for breakfast!!!
Then we wrapped it up at the Washington Zoo, where we did not take many pictures, but we did get a picture of the Orangutans that pooped on someones head! It was not our heads, so it was funny to us!

Hey there! Hadn't seen your blog in a while and had fun catching up! It looks like you guys are doing well. Fun that you got to come to VA for part of the time while Derek was away and that you got to see him for a bit too. That would be hard to be apart for so long. I know your family was thrilled to have you and the kids in VA. Your kids are growing up! Sarah is adorable- love the sunglasses pics. Hope you guys are doing ok and that it is a great school year!
