In my CHILDREN's eyes....

There is a Martina McBride song called In My Daughter's Eyes which I love....of course because I love Martina McBride.  Last week I heard this song coming on and I said I dedicate this song to my girls Sarah and Lily...and poor Kurtis said...well what about your SON!!  So I explained the song and blah blah blah....later I was thinking about the song and how it is a fantastic representation of how I think our children see us as mothers...or parents in general.  SO the next day I said I dedicate this song to my children....and I looked back (cause we were in the van were I can see Kurtis in the rear view mirror) and saw him listening.  This time instead of singing the song word for word I replaced the word daughter with children. It fits....anyways Kurtis started laughing so hard and just said I love you mom!! Now every time the song comes on we switch it to children eyes and they all love it so much!!

Here are the lyric as they are in the original song for you to enjoy....and a link to the video.

In my daughter's eyes I am a heroI am strong and wise and I know no fearBut the truth is plain to seeShe was sent to rescue meI see who I wanna be in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes everyone is equalDarkness turns to light and the world is at peaceIt's miracle God gave to meGives me strength when I am weakI find reason to believe in my daughter's eyes
And when she wraps her hand around my fingerOh, it puts a smile in my heartEverything becomes a little clearerI realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enoughIt's giving more when you feel like giving upI've seen the lightIt's in my daughter's eyes
In my daughter's eyes I can see the futureA reflection of who I am and what will beAn' though she'll grow and someday leave, maybe raise a familyWhen I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made meFor I'll be there in my daughter's eyes
And of course...photos of the children I sing to!!  Love them all very very much!!!

Her appearance....

Lily Antoinette Pikula arrived on March 22nd, 2013, she weighed 7 lbs 11 ounces and was 22 inches long.  (Although after going to the doctor we now know they measured her wrong for her length and she was actually only 19 inches long!)

She came very quickly, Daddy almost had to deliver her but the doctor came in time!  We have enjoyed getting to know her, we love her and are so happy to have her in our family.  The other children are doing a great job with having a little sister...they sleep through the night despite her crow like screaming, and have both been very helpful with her thus far.

Downtown Disney and other Tasty Locations!!!

My brother came into town with his family and of course we had to meet them at Downtown Disney...we had some yummy dinner at the Rainforest Cafe and then enjoyed some LEGOS!!!  It was a treat to get to see them and spend some time with them!!

Sarah kept asking me to take photos of her with the lego people...not sure where that came from...."Take a picture of me here, take a picture of me with them" or her, it was too funny!!!  They are all made of REAL legos though!

We celebrated Dr. Seuss' Birthday with Dr. Seuss House pancakes and then Cat and the Hat Waffles!!

Before our friends left to move away from this wonderful place we had to go enjoy Fair Oaks Pharmacy with them one more time....and it was SO GOOD!!!

We just got a Beard Papa's right near our home, so we went and tasted their cream puffs the first day they opened....another place...SO GOOD!!!

Thank you GG...

So Kurtis has been preparing for his first Science Fair...and has been doing different experiments with his dad to figure out which ones he wanted to do.  Luckily, his GG and Pops sent him a BUNCH of science experiment kits for Christmas so he has been busy testing them and figuring out which one he wanted to focus on.

He decided on the 3 Stages of Matter!!  Here are some photos of him doing his experiment and then his finished project.  He had a lot of fun and is really going to be a little scientist!!

Experiment #1- He did this one for his grade!  He added solid baking soda (in the picture there is baking powder, but mommy fixed this mistake!!) to liquid vinegar and got a gas Carbon Dioxide.

Experiment #2- Making a Bouncy Ball out of Borax, Glue, and food coloring.  Someone else in his class was doing this one and he did not want to share a project!

 The final project!!!

Little Trip....

So we decided before we have the baby that we would take the two children and have a family vacation where we could have fun with the two of them before we added one more!  We headed to San Diego Old Towne and enjoyed a few days of the pool, good food, and some exciting touristy spots.  If you have never been to this section of San Diego it is a fun place to go and just walk around!!  I think the children felt the love, and had a great time with mommy and daddy before Lily arrives in our family!!

Sarah LOVED breakfast at the hotel!!!

The weather was fantastic, and we loved hanging out at the pool!
One of the great restaurants that we found, the tortilla's were so fresh!!!!
Panning for rocks, like they panned for GOLD!

Geo's that the children picked out!  Kurtis has collected many Geo's from our trips, it has become a habit for us to pick one wherever we can find them!

A haunted house we found there...it is one of the few authentic haunted houses in the US.  We had no experiences ourselves, but Derick LOVES haunted houses so it was fun to say we went there!
 Some fun touristy items....
Our little ones were so tired by the end of our trip but really loved every minute of it!

Outside of our hotel...it was a very very beautiful and NEW hotel!
The temple on the way home!
